⚽️ With 364 goals so far, the 2016/17 campaign is set to be the most prolific since 1992/93. ⚽️

With 364 goals scored in the 120 matches since the group stage started, the average of more than three a game would be unprecedented if maintained after the final on 3 June. For that to happen, 11 more goals are needed in the five remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, five more goals in those matches would take the tally to 369, one more than 2012/13, when 368 were registered for the current record average of 2.94 per game. The highest actual goal haul was 449 in 2000/01, when the second group stage meant that 157 fixtures were played rather than the current 125, with an average of 2.86. The last occurrence of an average of more than three was in the last all-knockout European Champion Clubs' Cup season of 1990/91, when 190 goals were scored in 59 matches.
It will be tougher for other records to go. No player remaining in the competition is within ten strikes of Cristiano Ronaldo's 17 goals from 2012/13 (in fact, Ronaldo is the closest on seven) while the highest-scoring team still in the competition, Real Madrid, have 28, fully 17 goals behind Barcelona's record and 13 short of their own high-water mark for a 13-game campaign.
